Author Simon Philip visits Ark Ayrton!

Last week, Author Simon Philip came to visit pupils in Years R, 1 and 2! Reception children have read his book ‘You Must Bring a Hat’ as part of their learning during the Autumn Term, and they thoroughly enjoyed listening to him read one of his other books ‘I Really Want the Cake’. They listened beautifully and had great ideas about what might happen next in the story, well done Reception! 🌟 Simon then met with Years 1 and 2 and talked to them about how he became an author as well as reading another one of his fantastic books ‘Be More Bernard’. The children loved the story about Bernard following his dreams and not just being the same as all the other rabbits. The children helped Simon with all the things that make a great story and then they shared their dreams about what they’d like to be when they grow up – great job Years 1 and 2!
